What size vial is Yodimaspen available in?

Yodimaspen is available in a pack of 12 vials of 5million (i.u).  The pack is divided into vials of 5g Yodimaspen with 15mL sterile diluent.

When should I use Yodimaspen?

Yodimaspen should be used to treat infections caused by gram-positive bacteria including betalactamase producing strains that cause mastitis, respiratory infections, footrot, uterine infections and listeriosis.

What are the Administration and Dosage Rates of Yodimaspen?

Yodimaspen is registered for administration by a registered Veterinarian only.

 Reconstitution of Yodimaspen:

Suspend 5g of Yodimaspen in the enclosed vial 15mL sterile solution to achieve a final concentration of 0.33g/mL penethamate hydriodide. Shake well after reconstitution.

 Dosage and Adminstration:

Inject intramuscularly, according to dosage below. The reconstituted aqueous suspension is stable for 24 hours at room temperature (discard unused portion of the reconstituted product after 24 hours) and for 1 week when stored in refrigerator. Shake well before administration.

General dose: 10-15mg per kg bodyweight. Repeat dose for 1 to 5 days depending on condition.

Note-Must NOT be injected intravenously

Meat- 5 days Milk - 36 hours (1 treatment) - 72 hours (several treatments)

Store below 30°C (Room Temperature) Reconstituted suspension at room temperature for 24 hours and 2°C – 8°C (Refrigerated up to 7 days)

Dispose the empty container by wrapping in paper and putting in garbage.
